Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)

Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) is a technique for minimally invasive mucosectomy in the gastrointestinal tract. It enables the rapid and safe removal of suspect lesions. In the upper GI tract EMR is usually performed with a transparent plastic cap (EMRC), while special anti-slip snares may be used to remove the lesions in the lower GI tract.
