The Spiration Valve limits airflow to damaged tissue while allowing trapped air and secretions to escape naturally along the airway wall. A reduction in airflow to damaged lung has been shown to accelerate resolution of an air leak.

Spiration Valve placement is a very simple and very fast procedure. With the umbrella design of the SVS valve you can easily occlude bronchi. You have some anchors at the distal part to avoid migration or coughing out (valves). And with the very thin and flexible catheter, you can also place the valves in sometimes difficult to reach areas.
