Reliable Sealing
Greater than 99% probability of vessel burst pressure above 360mmHg, vessels ≤ 7 mm.2
As a surgeon, you experience many stresses that exert a squeeze on you – time constraints, heavy caseloads, patient safety issues, staffing shortages and resource challenges. Your energy device should not be a contributor to that stress.
At Olympus, we’ve engineered the POWERSEAL portfolio to help ease that squeeze. How? By building a next level advanced bipolar product to support how you use surgical energy, delivering the clinical performance you expect plus multifunctional design and ergonomic comfort, so you can focus on what matters most: Your patient.
Usability for both laparoscopic and open surgery needs.
Maryland dissector jaw design for efficient, symmetrical dissection.
Fixed lower jaw to maintain the horizontal plane.
Double action jaw for blunt dissection and grasping.
Available in three shaft lengths
44 cm
37 cm
23 cm
When the pressure is on, you need a surgical energy device that helps you stay in the flow and in control. The POWERSEAL portfolio consistently delivers strong vessel sealing throughout the procedure.
Three different jaw Types to support your preference and technique for dissection, grasping and sealing.
Reduces hand strain and supports continued control of the device
1. Wrap-around button design supports minimized thumb movement to activate energy. 19
2. POWERSEAL design focuses on ergonomic control via reduced reach distances to device landmarks. 10,20
3. POWERSEAL significantly reduces the squeeze force required to close the jaws, without sacrificing sealing strength.1,2
After using POWERSEAL, independent surgeons surveyed indicated:
…Better usability over the course of a procedure…21
…Improved ergonomics over the course of a procedure…22
…Equivalent or fewer necessary jaw cleaning over the course of a procedure…23
…Handle design limits the incidence of accidental activation when the device is used as a grasper…24

21. CJSA, SJDA – 5 of 8 surgeons (63%) evaluated CJSA as having Better or Substantially Better usability than their usual LigaSure Maryland Jaw device. 6 of 11 surgeons (55%) evaluated SJDA has having Better usability than the LigaSure Blunt Tip device.
22. CJSA, SJDA – In 29 of 36 cases (67%), surgeons evaluated POWERSEAL ergonomics as Better or Substantially Better than their usual Energy device. In 23 of 29 (79%) cases, surgeons rated POWERSEAL ergonomics as Better or Substantially Better than their usual LigaSure device.
23. CJDA - In 100% (63 of 63) of cases, surgeons who usually use a nano-coated device reported the number of jaw cleanings required with POWERSEAL CJDA as the same or fewer than their current device. CJSA, SJDA - In 27 of 28 (96%) cases, surgeons evaluated the number of necessary jaw cleanings with POWERSEAL to be Equivalent, Fewer, or Substantially Fewer than their usual nano-coated LigaSure device.
24. In 83% (83 of 100) of cases, surgeons agreed that the POWERSEAL handle design limits the incidence of accidental activation when the device is used as a grasper.
